Girl Power is the driving force behind Alyce Homecoming and Alyce Prom! Alice Marie-Thérèse Hamm was born in France and began making her mark at a young 12 years old, sewing for local men and women during WW II. At only 15 she moved to Paris to begin her formal design training and after 10 years of study and experience moved to Chicago, living with her aunt in the USA. She worked for many years as a designer in the Bridal and Pageant industries and finally in 1981 she opened her own Prom fashion house, and the iconic Alyce brand was born. From 1981 until today the Alyce brand has meant style, sparkle and so much more. Alyce was an innovator, and the woman herself travelled to China and India to show the factories there how to produce the fabrics she needed to make her signature style prom and pageant dresses.
Today, when you choose an Alyce dress for your school dance or other occasion, you are wearing a creation by a company whose name has become synonymous with “Prom Dress”. Alyce went from a young girl with a dream to a driving force in the prom fashion industry and has made her mark on fashion history.
Even now the company is still in the Hamm family and is run by her Brother with help from her nieces and nephew. What about your family history? Perhaps you could be wearing the same brand as your mom or even grandma. Ask them if they ever wore or tried on an Alyce dress when they were in high school!
